Over the next couple of months things once again slowed down while I concentrated on other things (cycling and scuba diving), but I did take a few pictures obviously.
This one was taken at Hawkstone Park Follies though out of all of the pictures that day this one could have been taken anywhere! It just reminded me to keep changing my perspective and the perfect picture could be very close at hand:

Another was taken at Calke Abbey, I had invested in a graduated neutral density filter or gradient filter - this basically is a filter where half of the filter is of neutral density which transitions gradually, into the other half which is clear - the use for such a filter is to darken (slightly) a bright sky in order to prevent the issue of under exposed land or overexposed sky when taking pictures on a particularly sunny day. The filter pack I ordered contained 3 gradient filters, gray, blue & red. Gray is the normal colour to be used but this picture was taken with the blue filter attached and you can see how much more blue it makes the sky appear whilst also improving exposure on the darker subject matter:
